Crunchyroll New York Comic Con 2026

Crunchyroll has laid out its programming for New York Comic Con 2026, running October 8–11 at the Javits Center. The slate is built around four titles — The Apothecary Diaries Season 3, Black Clover Season 2, Sentenced to Be a Hero, and BLACK TORCH — plus a showcase panel promising new announcements and world-premiere trailers.

The Crunchyroll Showcase

Programming opens with the Crunchyroll Showcase on Thursday, October 8 at 3:30 p.m. in Room 405, featuring newly announced anime, sneak peeks, world-premiere trailers and updates. The official press release teases “huge announcements and new trailers.”

Panel schedule

  • The Apothecary Diaries — Friday, October 9 at 12:15 p.m., Room 409. Aoi Yuki (Japanese voice of Maomao) and Takeo Otsuka (Jinshi) discuss their work and recreate scenes. Season 3 premieres October 2.
  • Sentenced to Be a Hero — Friday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m., Room 405. Original author Rocket Shokai and illustrator Mephisto appear with Yohei Azakami (Xylo) and Mayu Iizuka (Teoritta). A second season was recently confirmed.
  • Black Clover Season 2 — Saturday, October 10 at 12:45 p.m., Empire Stage. A special screening plus a behind-the-scenes discussion and live dubbing session with Gakuto Kajiwara and Dallas Reid, the Japanese and English voices of Asta. Season 2 premieres October 3, more than five years after the first season ended.
  • BLACK TORCH — Sunday, October 11 at 12:00 p.m., Empire Stage. English cast members AJ Beckles (Jiro Azuma) and Keith Silverstein (Rago) look back on the series’ action and comedy.

Screenings, booths and Crunchyroll Manga

Crunchyroll will also hold several advance screenings during the convention, with more expected to be announced. At Booth #1653, the company will run interactive experiences based on Black Clover and Witch Hat Atelier. Crunchyroll Manga will have its own presence at Booth #1643, marking one year since the digital manga service launched — the company notes its catalogue has doubled over the past year.

Why this lineup matters

Two of the four highlighted titles — The Apothecary Diaries S3 and Black Clover S2 — premiere within days of NYCC, making the convention a launch platform. Black Clover‘s return is particularly notable: the anime went on hiatus in 2021 after 170 episodes, and the five-year gap makes Season 2 one of the most anticipated shonen comebacks of the season. The showcase panel, meanwhile, is where Crunchyroll typically drops its biggest unannounced acquisitions, so the “huge announcements” tease is worth watching.
