The second season of The Ramparts of Ice anime will begin October 1, continuing in its established Thursday late-night slot on TBS and 27 affiliated stations, with Netflix again handling a same-day global stream alongside other Japanese services.
Based on Agasawa’s webtoon-style manga, serialized on LINE Manga from 2020 to 2022 and collected across 14 volumes, the story follows guarded high schooler Koyuki Hikawa, who keeps everyone at a distance except for the persistently friendly Minato Amemiya, weaving their relationship together with popular classmate Miki and easygoing Yota into a bittersweet coming-of-age drama.
Anna Nagase and Shoya Chiba lead the returning cast as Koyuki and Minato, with director Mankyu and writer Yasuhiro Nakanishi back at Studio KAI following the first season’s April 2 premiere. The manga has been recognized on multiple industry rankings, including a top-two finish in AnimeJapan’s 2023 most-wanted-adaptation poll and a Shogakukan Manga Award nomination that same year.
