Following the announced anime adaptation of Tsugumi Project, another original creation from publisher Ki-oon is getting adapted: Shiro Kuroi's space battle-royale manga Leviathan will become a live-action film. Set for release in Japanese theaters on February 11, 2027, the film is directed by Michihito Fujii and Ryohei Shingu, starring Shunsuke Michieda and Natsuki Deguchi as protagonists Kazuma and Futaba, with distribution by Toho. A trailer showcasing the film's tense atmosphere and special effects has been released, though no French release has been confirmed yet. Author Shiro Kuroi expressed gratitude for the adaptation, praising the production team's work in translating his story—a deadly game aboard a spaceship with 1-in-38 survival odds—into a visually stunning film. The manga was published in France between 2022 and 2023 across three volumes.
