Netflix will premiere its new mystery thriller series Mousetrap, based on the webtoon Field Mouse, on August 28. The company also unveiled the poster and English-subtitled teaser trailer:
The series follows reclusive novelist Moon-jae, whose life is turned upside down by a mysterious figure known only as "FieldMouse." In a desperate attempt to reclaim what he's lost, Moon-jae teams up with No-ja, a ruthless loan shark who once pursued him.
Hong-sun Kim directs the series, with Jun-yeol Ryu starring as Moon-jae, Kyung-gu Sul as loan shark Noja, and Kyoo-hyung Lee as detective Sun-yong.
Field Mouse was originally serialized from2017-2020 by webtoon artist Ludovico. Its story is inspired by the Korean folktale "The Rate That Ate Fingernails," which tells the story of a rat that transforms into a human after consuming someone's fingernails.
An English versionof the webtoon is not currently available.
