The staff for Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Star Detective Precure! The Movie: The Mysterious Garden and the Secret of 2 People) presented the film’s Pochitan Miracle Light trailer on Sunday. The clip highlights the bonus light sticks given to younger audience members, which viewers use at key moments to cheer on the Precure. The staff also revealed film-exclusive future forms for Cure Mystique, Cure Eclair and Cure Arcana, following an earlier reveal for Cure Answer.
Comedy duo cotton’s Jinji Nishimura and Kyon guest-star as creatures called Dame Dame, and past characters from You and Idol Precure and Wonderful Precure also appear. Hanako Ueda is directing, Yoshimi Narita is writing the script, and Emiko Miyamoto is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director.
The film opens in Japan on September 18. The Star Detective Precure! TV series, the 23rd main Precure entry, premiered on February 1 and is streaming on Crunchyroll across much of the world. It follows middle schooler Anna Akechi, who travels from 2027 back to 1999 and teams with aspiring detective Mikuru Kobayashi to transform into Precure detectives.
