Amazon Prime Video Japan released a teaser Thursday for the next chapter of its live-action Silent Service adaptation, confirming the title The Silent Service: Awaken, New York and a worldwide summer 2027 premiere exclusively on Prime Video, with the bulk of the film and series cast—including star and producer Takao Osawa—returning.
The teaser suggests the story is building toward its climax, following March’s sequel announcement in which Osawa pledged the production would carry Kaiji Kawaguchi’s manga through to a full conclusion.
The franchise’s most recent installment, September 2025’s The Silent Service: The Battle of the Arctic Ocean, followed 2023’s original film and a 2024 Prime Video series continuation; Kawaguchi’s manga, serialized in Kodansha’s Morning from 1988 to 1996, previously inspired a 1996 anime special and a two-part OVA.
