Ki-oon released an excerpt and trailer for its new original creation Suicide Red, due July 2, with author Harimaru set to attend Japan Expo. Presented as an explosive action shonen, it's signed by Harimaru, former chief assistant to Yusuke Murata (One-Punch Man, Eyeshield 21) for nearly a decade before going solo; a 2022 draft posted on Days Neo caught several Japanese publishers' attention before he chose to develop it with Ki-oon. Set in a fantastical Tokyo where superpowers are now common after dimensional rifts unleashed magic ten years ago, the story follows Madoka, nicknamed 'Suicide Red' for her flame powers and tendency to injure herself using them.
