Adapted from the novel by Yasutaka Tsutsui, it was the final feature film to be directed by Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Paranoia Agent) before his death from pancreatic cancer in 2010.
While Amazon UK, HMV and Rarewaves are all currently listing this title as certificate "18", the BBFC website lists the film as "15" for moderate sexualised violence.
