During Nippon Television's 24-Hour Television 49 charity broadcast, Detective Conan creator Gosho Aoyama made an appearance and shared insights about his famous series. Interviewed by rapper Chanmina and SixTONES member Taiga Kyomoto, Aoyama revealed that he never expected Detective Conan to become popular, originally believing it would be cancelled quickly, and only realized its success around the release of the first animated film in April 1997, more than three years after the manga began; he also noted, after talking with Eiichiro Oda, that Conan and One Piece are now the only two manga still receiving continuous weekly anime adaptations. Asked by Chanmina, who says she always thinks ahead to her own retirement, whether he feels similarly, Aoyama gave a definitive answer that he has indeed already thought about how Detective Conan will end.
