Universal Studios Japan (USJ) announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with massively popular anime series One Piece and Detective Conan for a line of collaboration merchandise celebrating the theme park's 25th anniversary. One set features One Piece protagonist Monkey D. Luffy at the Jurassic Park attraction interacting with a T-Rex. The Detective Conan collaboration, in turn, has Conan Edogawa and Dr. Agasa paying homage to Marty McFly and Doc Brown in Back to the Future's iconic movie poster.
Both collaborations will feature a shirt. The One Piece collaboration will also include abottle and tote bag, while the Detective Conan collaboration will include a mug and figure set. The items will be available from September 9 at the in-park Studio Style store. Asof press time, no prices for the merchandise have been announced.
One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda and Detective Conan creator Gōshō Aoyama also released statements congratulating USJ on its 25th anniversary. In his comments, Oda expressed his thanks for theannual One Piece Premier live show at the park and the anniversary collaboration project. Aoyama sent a shorter message proclaiming his elation for the Detective Conan and Back tothe Future collaboration.
