Aniplex confirmed in a video on Saturday thatthe Fate/strange Fake television anime will get a new season. The company first announcedthe news at a panel for the anime at the Anime NYC event on Friday.
Aniplexhad teased a "To be continued" message in a video for the anime it released after the anime's 13th episode aired in March.
The anime adapts Ryohgo Narita's Fate/strange Fake spinoff story.
The first season debuted on January 3 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, and Tochigi TV. The first airing was for 90 minutes, airing both the Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- special and then the firstepisode of the main television anime series.
The anime was previously slatedto premiere in 2025. Crunchyroll is streaming the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
The English-subbed version of the anime's first episode debuted at the "Fate 20th Anniversary Showcase" event in November 2024. Crunchyroll debuted the anime's Japanese-dubbed version in December 2024. It began streaming the English dub of the anime in January 2026.
Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- directors Shun Enokido (Fate/Grand Order commercials, Flip Flappers episode director) and Takahito Sakazume (Fate/GrandOrder commercials Fate/Apocrypha episode director) directed the Fate/strange Fake anime at A-1 Pictures. Daisuke Daitō (Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers) wrote the scripts. Yūkei Yamada (Fate/Apocrypha) designed the characters and was also the chief animation director, and Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan, Mobile SuitGundam UC) composed the music.

The earlierFate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- anime special premiered in Japan in July 2023. The special is available on Crunchyroll with an English dub.
Narita (Baccano!, Durarara!!) first published the Fake/states night story as an April Fool's joke in April 1, 2008. Narita then developed the story as a Fate/strange Fake supplement for the Type-Moon Ace Vol. 2 magazine, before launching a full-fledged light novel series with illustrationsby Shizuki Morii in January 2015. Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint published the ninth light novel volume in March 2024. The 10th and final volume of the novels will ship this summer.
Morii has also been simultaneously drawing a manga adaptation.
