IMAGICA Infos’ boys-love-focused BALLOON label announced Thursday a low-budget “light anime” adaptation of Toworu Miyata’s Aoharu Once More, marking the label’s third project since launching last year alongside partners Dai Nippon Printing, CYBIRD and BLUE RIGHTS.
Rikako Machida directs at IMAGICA Infos/Imageworks Studio, adapting Tokyopop’s English-licensed manga about Hayato Kobayashi’s nostalgic memories of his high school days and his feelings for classmate Ritsu Onishi.
BALLOON’s streamlined “light anime” format, championed by DNP as a faster and cheaper alternative to conventional production, previously yielded I’ll Live a Long Life to Dote on My Favorite Stepbrother! in January and Perfect Addiction in July; the label is targeting four new titles this fiscal year and a pipeline of ten or more annually by 2028.
