Ahead of its September 23 release (standard and collector editions) in the Anicomi Corp. imprint, volume 1 of the manga Sword Art Online – Re: Aincrad has an online preview available. Running in Japan since 2021 in Comic Dengeki Daioh, this new adaptation (script by Mito Sato, art by Kimi, based on Reki Kawahara's original) retells the first SAO arc in less rushed fashion, promising deeper exploration of Kirito, Asuna, and other characters' psychology while doing justice to the arc's key moments.
