Kadokawa published the volume on August 7, and it depicts Kirito and Asuna’s life as newlyweds. The Sword Art Online franchise spans novel and manga spinoffs, multiple anime seasons, films and a planned original film, Sword Art Online -Integral Domain-, due in 2028.
Kirby: Mugen no Haguruma—Kiri ni Tsutsumareta Daijiken!?, the latest novel tied to Nintendo’s Kirby franchise, placed second with 24,410 copies; Kadokawa published it on August 5. The first part of the Witch on the Holy Night novel adaptation by Kinoko Nasu and Hirokazu Koyama ranked third with 19,560 copies, published by Seikaisha on August 27 ahead of the anime film’s November 20 opening.
Oricon has compiled Japanese sales data since 1967 and has published its book ranking, based on sales figures, since 2008.
