Konami followed up an initial trailer with a story-focused second look at Rev. Noir during Thursday’s State of Play, confirming the single-player RPG for a 2027 release that, for now, is planned exclusively for PlayStation 5.
Set in a world threatened by a deadly phenomenon called lightfall, the story follows an amnesiac boy who meets a mysterious girl, and the pair set out on a journey they believe can both stop the phenomenon and save her life, raising questions of fate versus free will along the way.
Producer Nobuki Kadoi said during the broadcast that the team is centering the narrative on classic JRPG touchstones—meeting companions, growth and emotionally resonant moments—as the core of the experience.
