Square Enix used Thursday’s State of Play to confirm an April 8 simultaneous launch across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC for Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the closing chapter of the Remake trilogy, alongside a trailer confirming Cid and Vincent as playable party members.
A companion video previewed traversal via the Highwind airship and chocobo partner Piko, plus a new “Fits” system letting any character swap into classic job roles like Warrior, Knight, Black Mage or Summoner during free exploration; the stream also spotlighted the nation of Wutai and teased the returning superboss trio of Ruby, Emerald and Ultima Weapon.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi previously described the game’s theme as “resolve,” reflecting Cloud and company steeling themselves for their final confrontation. The trilogy began with 2020’s Final Fantasy VII Remake, continued through the enhanced Intergrade edition and 2024’s Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, both of which have since expanded to additional platforms including Switch 2 and Xbox.
