Bandai Namco used Thursday’s State of Play to show off avatar customization options for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, including a newly added Android playable race and the ability to inherit techniques from established franchise characters; the game is slated for a 2027 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Alongside franchise mainstays like Bulma and Gamma 1, the roster will include original characters Brett, Lilica, ROM and Tap, with one new original character reportedly designed with input from the late Akira Toriyama, according to producer Akio Iyoku.
Announced as a joint project with Toei Animation back in January after roughly six to seven years in development, the game follows 2016’s Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, which has since been ported across multiple console generations, and the original 2015 Xenoverse before it.
