NIS America revealed The Eminence in Shadow: Phantom Echoes during Thursday’s State of Play, a new 3D action roguelite based on Daisuke Aizawa’s light novel series, set to launch on PS5, Switch 2, Steam and the Epic Games Store sometime in 2027; the debut trailer shows series hero Alpha wielding a shape-shifting “Awakening” ability alongside fellow cast members Delta and Shadow.
The light novels, serialized since 2018 and licensed in English by Yen Press alongside their manga adaptation, previously inspired a two-season anime that ran from October 2022 through October 2023, with HIDIVE streaming same-day English dubs; a film subtitled Lost Echoes is also due in 2027, following an earlier mobile game released in 2022.
