Bandai Namco used Thursday’s State of Play to announce “A Hero’s Eternal Legacy,” a major expansion for Digimon Story: Time Stranger set to arrive in 2027, picking up the story three years after the base game and introducing a new protagonist alongside more than 50 additional Digimon.
The core game launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC in October 2025 before reaching Switch and Switch 2 this past July, with the newer platforms offering both performance and quality display modes. Three prior DLC episode packs—Alternate Dimension, GAKU-RAN and Anti-ParadoX—have already rolled out as part of the season pass, alongside a theme song from singer-songwriter reche.
The announcement follows July’s launch of the mobile spinoff Digimon UP, which Bandai Namco describes as built around a Digimon journey that grows alongside the player’s real life.
