Panini announced the acquisition of The Ogre's Bride, with volume 1 due in bookstores July 8 at 8.29 euros. Launched in Japan in 2021 on Starts Shuppan's digital noicomi platform with nine volumes so far, Jun Togashi adapts a light novel written by Kureha and illustrated by Yu Shiratani. This folklore-inspired fantasy romance is a major hit in Japan (over 5.8 million copies sold), already adapted into a live-action drama with an anime adaptation starting in July. Set in a Japan where humans coexist with supernatural Ayakashi spirits (Oni, Fox Spirits, Cat Ghosts), the story follows Yuzu, a high schooler overshadowed and neglected in favor of her younger sister, who is engaged to a Fox Spirit — until she encounters a striking red-eyed young man one evening.
