Following La Force des Oublies in March, the late Hiroshi Hirata's second work to return to France via Komics Initiative is Tueur, arriving June 25 at 13 euros in the same flexible 15x21cm format, roughly 240 pages, with a preface by Fausto Fasulo and a translator's afterword and context notes by Tetsuya Yano. The story adapts the cult film Hitokiri, based on historical events, following assassin Izo Okada, tasked with eliminating enemies of his lord Hanpeita Takechi, who eventually refuses to keep following his lord's increasingly unscrupulous orders; the work's first French edition (Akata/Delcourt, 2008) has long been out of print.
