Publisher nobi nobi!'s Classics in Manga collection will add a 262-page manga adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice this fall. This version was originally published in Japan in Ohzora Shuppan's Harmony Romance magazine in 2009, created by Reiko Mochizuki, a prolific women's manga artist who has specialized in recent years in adapting Harlequin romance novels. The single French volume is set for September 16 at 10.90 euros, translated by Anais Fourny, in the collection's usual premium format with a bookmark ribbon and bonus documentation pages. The story follows the Bennet family and their five unmarried daughters in 19th-century England, whose lives are upended by the arrival of the charming Mr. Bingley and his proud, enigmatic friend Mr. Darcy, as the spirited Elizabeth Bennet navigates social convention and misleading first impressions.
