Following Chiisakobe, Tokyo Kaido, Dogs and Cats, and No Manga, No Life, acclaimed creator Minetaro Mochizuki returns to publisher Le Lézard Noir's catalog next week with his very first series: Yokohama Swimming Club (originally Bataashi Kingyo). The six-volume work was serialized in Japan between 1986 and 1988 in Kodansha's Young Magazine and was adapted into a 1990 live-action film by Joji Matsuoka; it's described as a quintessential 1980s comedy full of unrestrained, offbeat energy portraying an electric, bittersweet youth. The French edition will span three double-volumes, with the first paperback (translated by Constant Voisin, 15x21cm format) releasing August 26 at 30 euros; a limited hardcover special edition of 200 copies with sewn binding is also available exclusively on the publisher's website for 34.90 euros. The story follows Kaoru Hanai, whose sole philosophy is to live his youth to the fullest.
