Disney Publishing announced DisneyCursed Love, a new romantasy initiative inspired by Disney's classic love stories, at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026 on August 14.
The initiative will launchwith The Curse of a Forsaken Heart, a new webtoon by New York Times bestselling author Emily McIntire and artist Samairu. The series will debut on WEBTOON before expanding into print formats in 2027.

Disney alsoannounced seven additional titles that will join more than 20 existing Disney and Marvel series on WEBTOON, including Star Wars: Visions The Followers of Ankok, Star Wars: VisionsThe Ronin and the Droid, Disney Villains Hades, Disney Villains Maleficent, Disney Villains Ursula, Gravity Falls: Lost Legends, and The Ultimates. Release dates for the new titleshave not yet been announced.
WEBTOON and Disney announced in August 2025 a multi-year collaboration to adapt and distribute around 100 comics from Disney, Marvel, 20th Century Studios, and Star Wars in WEBTOON's mobile vertical-scroll format. The collaboration launched with a dedicated section on the English-language WEBTOON app, offering bothreformatted comics and brand-new original webcomic series based on Disney's most popular properties.
The two companies then announced in September 2025 they have signed a non-binding term sheet to develop a new digital comics platform. The service will include more than 35,000 comics from across Disney's portfolio, including Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and 20th Century Studios, along with WEBTOON Original titles. The platform will feature both vertical-scroll and traditional formats and WEBTOON Entertainment will build andoperate the platform. The platform will also expand on Marvel Unlimited, with current subscribers gaining access to the new catalog.
