With its French launch set for July 1, timed to Japan Expo where its author will also appear, the romantic comedy Hima-Ten! is shaping up as a major release for Panini, backed by three promotions: an exclusive reversible alternate cover for the first printing of volume 1; a preorder campaign (through July 1, capped at 3,000 entries) offering a pair of chopsticks plus entry into a raffle for a vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, or cooking class at Espace Japon; and a dedicated pop-up store June 27-28 at Paris' Kick Café featuring an exhibition and activities including a makeup workshop, karaoke, and a photo booth.
