Acclaimed slice-of-life mangaka Fumiyo Kouno, a key name in Kana's catalog, returns to the publisher on August 28 with Pippira Note, a large-format (148x210mm) first volume priced at 12.95 euros in the Made In collection. One of Kouno's earliest works, originally serialized slowly in Japan from 1997-2004 in Ohzora Shuppan/Futabasha's Manga Town (with the French edition based on a 2009 reissue), this two-volume yonkoma (four-panel strip) slice-of-life draws on the author's own experience owning a parakeet, following waitress Kimiko and her irreplaceable companion, a small parakeet she names Pippira, through gentle, humorous daily vignettes.
