About Manga For Today

Manga For Today is an independent digital publication covering manga as an international creative industry. We report on publishing, distribution, digital platforms, licensing, adaptations, market data, events and the people and companies shaping the medium. Our purpose is to help professionals and readers understand not only what has been announced, but also who is involved, where the information applies and why it matters.

What we cover

Our coverage includes new releases, serialization, hiatuses and conclusions, anime and live-action adaptations, sales and rankings, publisher and magazine developments, creator activity, awards, conventions, rights transactions, international licensing, electronic comics, technology, regulation and market analysis. We distinguish news, analysis, interviews, data, announcements and commercial content whenever practical. Dates, prices, territories and availability may differ by market, so articles identify the relevant region and publication date where that context is material.

How we work

We prioritize primary sources: official publisher and creator announcements, company filings, public records, industry bodies, event materials and direct reporting. Reliable specialist publications may be used for confirmation and additional context. When an article relies on external reporting, we identify the source and link to the original page whenever possible. Significant claims that cannot be independently confirmed are labeled as unverified, attributed to the reporting source or held for further review. Rumors, anonymous social posts and unattributed images are not treated as established facts on their own.

Independence and transparency

Manga For Today is not an official website of any publisher, studio, platform, creator or rights holder. Coverage does not imply endorsement, authorization or commercial affiliation. Editorial decisions are kept separate from advertisers, affiliate partners and information providers. Sponsored, supplied, promotional or affiliate-supported material is labeled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Payment, gifts or access do not purchase a favorable conclusion, suppress a material correction or determine whether legitimate criticism is published.

Copyright, images and trademarks

Original articles, graphics and editorial design are protected by their respective rights. Third-party text, covers, stills, logos, photographs and video are used only when supported by permission, a license, published press-use terms, an authorized embed or a legally valid quotation. Attribution alone does not make full reproduction lawful. If image rights cannot be confirmed, we use an original generic editorial thumbnail or publish without the image. Blurring, cropping or recoloring a protected image is not treated as a substitute for permission. Titles, company names, logos and other marks remain the property of their respective owners.

Technology and automation

We may use feeds, crawlers, duplicate detection, classification, translation assistance and generative tools to organize large volumes of public information. Automation supports the editorial process; it does not remove editorial responsibility. Sources, names, dates, figures, quotations and rights information should be checked before publication. We do not use AI to invent sources, quotations or interviews. Material automation errors may lead to correction, suspension or removal of all affected items.

Audience and international context

We serve industry professionals, creators, researchers, retailers, investors and general readers in Japan and abroad. Licensing terms, release schedules, platform access, prices and regulations vary by territory. Translated coverage therefore preserves the meaning of the source and avoids implying that an overseas announcement automatically applies to every market. Rankings and market figures are presented with their collection period, scope and methodology when those details are available.

Funding and advertising

The publication may be supported by advertising or other disclosed revenue. Revenue contributes to hosting, reporting, editing, translation, data management, security and rights review. Advertising is labeled and should not be confused with editorial content. Advertising relationships do not grant control over reporting, criticism, rankings or corrections. Where cookies or similar technologies are used, consent and privacy controls are provided as required for the visitor’s region.

Corrections and contact

Send factual corrections, replies, news tips, copyright or trademark notices, image-rights questions and advertising enquiries through our Contact page. Please include the article URL, the disputed passage, supporting evidence and a reliable way to reach you. Good-faith reports are reviewed promptly. Appropriate action may include a correction note, update history, image replacement, temporary restriction or removal. Read our complete Editorial Policy and Privacy Policy for more information.
