The official site for Grotesqqque, Atsushi Nishigori’s original omnibus film, announced that the second story – “Yoroshiku★Girl” – will be available for a limited early streaming window on Netflix in Japan. The segment will be accessible from October 23 through November 5, one week before the film opens nationwide on November 6.

“Yoroshiku★Girl,” also stylized as “4649 Girl,” plays on the Japanese numeric wordplay where 4‑6‑4‑9 reads as “yoroshiku,” meaning “nice to meet you.” The story is one of three distinct vignettes that make up the Grotesqqque anthology, each exploring a different speculative worldview.
Omnibus Structure and Other Segments
The film is divided into three self‑contained tales:
- A(E)liens
- Yoroshiku★Girl
- Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque
Each segment is supported by a roster of 35 musical acts, ranging from ASCA and Reol for “Yoroshiku★Girl” to eba and Nakano+ for “Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque.” The opening theme “Shoot Shoot Shoot” is performed by METALVERSE, while the ending theme is delivered by Haoto with lyrics by momosu momosu.
Cast Highlights
“Yoroshiku★Girl” features a star‑filled voice cast, including Sara Minami as Stella, Ikumi Hasegawa as an unnamed character, and Saori Hayami as Hikarin. Additional roles are voiced by Maaya Uchida, Chika Anzai, Miyu Tomita, Rumi Ōkubo, and Rie Kugimiya.
The other two stories also showcase notable talent. “A(E)liens” stars Kana Ichinose as Ellie and Gen Hoshino as Kento Kurikura, with veteran Akio Ōtsuka playing the Space Agency Bureau Director. “Nocturne: Nuit Grotesque” is headlined by Nogizaka46 members Nagi Inoue, Aruno Nakanishi, Miku Ichinose, and Nao Tomisato.
Production and Business Background
The film is a collaborative effort under the JOEN banner, a joint venture formed by Aniplex, CloverWorks, Wit Studio, and publisher Shueisha. Atsushi Nishigori serves as director, screenwriter, and character designer, bringing his experience from titles such as The IDOLM@STER and DARLING in the FRANXX.
Producer Yūichi Fukushima of CloverWorks and Tetsuya Nakatake of Wit Studio act as representative directors for JOEN, underscoring the cross‑studio collaboration that defines the project.
International Exposure
The Japan Society hosted the U.S. premiere in New York City on October 8, in partnership with CloverWorks and Aniplex of America. Nishigori appeared in person to introduce the film, giving Western audiences a first look at the anthology’s ambitious scope.
Details about the U.S. premiere were reported by Anime News Network, highlighting the growing global interest in the project.
Why the Early Netflix Window Matters
Streaming a single segment ahead of the full theatrical launch is a strategic move that builds anticipation while giving Netflix subscribers a taste of the film’s tone and musical flavor. Fans can watch “Yoroshiku★Girl” for free during the limited window, after which the full anthology will hit Japanese cinemas on November 6.
The early stream also serves as a promotional bridge between the U.S. premiere and the domestic release, ensuring that buzz generated overseas feeds back into the Japanese market.
