The short preview was shared via the series' official X account, confirming that the production is on schedule for its nationwide theatrical release on October 16 in Japan. An advance screening took place at Tokyo's Shinjuku Wald 9 theater earlier that day, allowing a limited audience to experience the film before its wide opening.

Returning staff members reinforce the continuity that fans have come to expect. Sōichi Masui is once again at the helm as director, working under the banner of CloverWorks. The screenplay remains in the hands of Masahiro Yokotani, while character designer Satomi Tamura returns to shape the new visuals. Musical composition is handled by the band Fox Capture Plan, maintaining the series' distinctive soundscape.

All major voice actors from previous adaptations are back for the film. Kaito Ishikawa reprises his role as Sakuta Azusagawa, Asami Seto returns as Mai Sakurajima, and Sora Amamiya is back as Uzuki Hirokawa. The supporting cast—Aya Yamane, Konomi Kohara, Manaka Iwami, Reina Ueda, Nao Tōyama, Atsumi Tanezaki, Maaya Uchida, Yurika Kubo, and Inori Minase—are also confirmed, ensuring continuity across the franchise.

Music for the movie receives special attention. Tōko Kirishima performs the insert track “Turn the World Upside Down,” while the ending theme “Suihei‑sen wa Boku no Furukizu finale” (translated as “The Horizon Is My Old Wound: Finale”) is sung by the same artist, adding emotional weight to the concluding narrative.

Beyond the theatrical experience, early‑goers will be rewarded with exclusive bonus material. Viewers who attend the film within its first week will obtain a brand‑new short story written by Kamoshida, titled Seishun Buta Yarō wa Tea Garden no Yume o Miru (Rascal Does Dream of a Tea Garden). Illustrated by Keeji Mizoguchi, the tale follows Sakuta, Mai, and Shōko after a casual shopping trip, offering fans a sweet epilogue to the main plot.

The release follows a successful string of adaptations. The original TV series, Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl‑senpai, aired in 2018, covering the first five novels. The franchise’s first film, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, adapted volumes six and seven and premiered in June 2019, later arriving on Crunchyroll with both subtitles and dub in 2025. Subsequent movies—Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out (June 2023) and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid (December 2023)—performed solidly at the box office, each ranking fourth on opening weekend charts.

Most recently, the series expanded to television again with Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, adapting the “University Student Arc” and streaming on Crunchyroll in July 2025. The continued partnership with Aniplex of America ensures that international audiences can expect timely access to future releases.

The series’ creator, Hajime Kamoshida, continues to expand his world, now surpassing three million copies in circulation across the light‑novel line.
