Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the biggest shonen anime of the modern era, and unlike long-running series such as Naruto or Bleach, it has no filler. That makes the Jujutsu Kaisen watch order short and simple — but the prequel film’s placement still trips people up.
Jujutsu Kaisen watch order
- Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 (2020–2021) — Episodes 1–24. Introduces Yuji Itadori, Megumi, Nobara and Gojo, and ends on the Origin of Obedience and Shibuya-adjacent setup.
- Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021 film) — a prequel following Yuta Okkotsu, set roughly one year before Season 1. Watch it after Season 1, not before: although it is chronologically earlier, Season 1 assumes you are new to the world, and JJK 0 lands harder once you know the characters and stakes it references.
- Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 (2023) — the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc (the Gojo–Geto past) followed by the Shibuya Incident arc, the series’ turning point.
- Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 — the Culling Game arc. Part 1 (12 episodes) aired from January to March 2026; Part 2 is scheduled to follow.

Quick chronological note
If you specifically want chronological order rather than the recommended release order, it is: JJK 0 → Season 1 → Season 2’s Hidden Inventory flashback (chronologically the earliest of all, but presented mid-Season 2 for a reason) → the rest of Season 2 → Season 3. For almost everyone, though, release order is the better experience.
Total runtime
Around 60 TV episodes plus the roughly 105-minute film — close to 25 hours. The manga by Gege Akutami concluded in 2024, so the anime has a clear, finite story ahead of it.
