Source Policy
This policy explains the standards Manga For Today applies when selecting, verifying and citing the sources behind our reporting on the manga business.
1. Preferred sources
We prioritize official announcements, publisher and creator channels, licensing and rights holders, industry associations, public filings, event materials and established manga and anime industry news outlets.
2. Verification
Key facts—names, dates, figures, titles and quotations—are checked against a primary source where one is available before publication. Claims that rest only on a single secondary report are attributed to that report and, where the information cannot be corroborated, described as unconfirmed rather than presented as settled fact.
3. Attribution
When an article is based on reporting first published elsewhere, the originating outlet or announcement is credited in the article. We do not present another publication’s original reporting as our own exclusive work.
4. Anonymous and sensitive sources
Anonymous sourcing is used sparingly, only where the information is credible, of genuine relevance to the manga industry, and cannot reasonably be obtained on the record.
5. Conflicting information and updates
When sources disagree or new information emerges after publication, coverage is revised in line with our Corrections Policy rather than left inconsistent with the latest facts.
